Join MAMAS & friends Dean Spade, Shannon Perez-Darby and folks from your local prisoner solidarity collective on Sunday Nov 15th 6:30-9:30p at the legendary @leftbankbookscollective for interactive conversation about what it means to caregive and resist in the face of state violence.
Date: Sunday November 15th
Time: 6:30-9:30pm
Location: Left Bank Books - 92 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101
Sharing excerpts from Radical Mothering: Caregiving & Resistance Across Prison Walls, we’ll discuss strategies and tools for ending the violence of carceral systems, and for building the networks of care & support needed in the fight for liberated worlds.
Following the discussion, we’ll put our values into practice by writing cards to incarcerated community members. Cards will be provided and you are welcome to include your loved ones as well.
This event is masking-required. The room for the event is wheelchair accessible, but most of the bookstore is not. Books are available for purchase at the event- we encourage everyone to support your local bookshop!
